So i'm new to illustrator, and it confuses me! Anyways, i'm trying to fire out how i can merge paths? Like as i design pieces of a logo and i want them all to fit together. Thanks for any help!

Mereging paths in illustrator

Window: Pathfinder
Select multiple objects and then it sounds like you want to press the first icon button. Others are also useful for punching, subtracting, etc.
Pieces remain separate but act like they've been merged unless you press the Expand button afterwards or hold down option key while pressing one of the path operator buttons.
