I just got a new Mac Mini M1 and am using OS 12.4. The merge folders option isn't working, though. When I hold the option key on my (Apple) keyboard and drag the folder with the same name to a disk, it does not offer the option to merge, only "Stop" or "Replace". The folder I'm dragging has a file in it that is not on the folder in the destination. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone test this and let me know what happens when you try it?
[Edit] So, this is weird... I did a different test, and it worked. But other tests don't work, and I'm doing the same procedure. It doesn't make sense. Basically, sometimes it offers "Merge" and sometimes it doesn't.
Does anyone know of a good, safe program that does this? I know Carbon Copy Cloner is an option....
