Hi, I have a question about ImageReady. I make animations in there for a long time now but I wanna make an animation but it's really huge and it slows down the whole program/computer. Now I was thinking about splitting the scene into 3 or 4 animations and put them back together once they're all finished.

So my question now...is there a possibility to merge those gifs in the end in ImageReady? I have never done that before and I tried to figure it out myself but I can't seem to find something. Is it even possible to merge gifs either as an already saved optimized .gif format or a saved .psd format in ImageReady?

If not...what other possibility is there?

Thanks for your help :)

Heading for trouble?

I never heard of merging GIFs. Even it were possible, why? If the animation is so big it slows down your computer when viewing locally, why would you want to "merge" and subject others to it on the Web? Generally if there is a lag of several seconds, site visitors will assume the browser crashed, the site is lame or both.

My suggestion is to remove some of the 'tween frames and reduce amount of colors.

BTW you can create animated GIFs with more current versions of Photoshop (w/o ImageReady) under the Animation menu. With interlacing, the initial image will appear reasonably fast before the animation begins. Not that I recommend it but the animation at penrules.com is 320KB. Tested on an Edge iPhone it still loads reasonably fast. If you are crashing your computer, your GIF must be much larger.

well just the time when I do the animation is slow...so just ImageReady. I have the animation already finished but I wanted to add text on some parts of the ani but it loads very long everytime I click with the Text tool on it it loads a while and then when I write it loads a while and so on and I get annoyed by the waiting part. The ani itself is finish and when I check out the ani in my browser it's not slow at all. So I thought about splitting the current ani, add the text to it and merge it together in the end but I will see what I can do then. Thanks for the answer anyways :)
