I'm merging several Photos libraries, and I'm using the iCloud method because it's the only way to preserve both original and edited photos, metadata, etc.
Basically, you start with one Photos library (A) synced with iCloud, switch to the Photos library that you want to merge into it (B) and set that as your system library. Wait for B to upload to iCloud, then quit and switch back to A, and set A as your system library again. All photos will then sync to A with all metadata, etc., and you can delete B.
So far so good, but when I switch back to A it reuploads all its photos to iCloud, even though they're already there. It's not a problem, it's just time consuming and seemingly unnecessary. Has anyone else experienced this?
