I just got my 3G s, and I need to know which alternative browser is the best? I need something quick and I would like real tabs, and full screen wouldn't hurt. I see a bunch of different ones on iTunes but I dont know which is best.

Also if yall know a good alternative to the SMS app please let me know

A Perfect Web Browser 2 is a good alternative to Safari!. It's awesome! Here is the link

I'm somewhat curious as to why you got an iPhone if it's functionality doesn't appeal to you? I'm being completely serious and not sarcastic at all. I guess that's the beauty of the app store but I still find it odd.

Probably because he wants to use tabs. Safari is just one part of the iPhone, so I wouldn't say "it's functionality doesn't appeal" to the OP. However, I wouldn't spend money to replace safari.

I find third-party apps that tend to replace the iPhone's original parts or functionality like web-browsers to be somewhat bizarre. It just ruins the look and feel of the iPhone and it's UI.

Well you can get FireFox with flash support in the app store search for Jaadu.

I just tried that one out and its faster than Safari. So far, im liking it except for the cartoony look it has going on.

The cartoony look on the tabs put me off, it makes it seem a tad tacky

And the reviews on the app store aren't as favourable as you people make it out to be

But it's 59p so...:)

I like it so far! I really like the tabs, and I like that you can set a home page. It might be a little slow initially loading on my 3g, but not too bad. I don't mind the cartoony icons :)

Wow have Apple actually lightened up on their "must not replicate iPhone functionality" policy or do my eyes deceive me?

They're all still the same Safari underneath, just with different shells on top.

But yeah, you're right that it's odd they allow different Safari looks, considering some of their other rejection claims.

Apple's got about a dozen split personalities all fighting each other.

Different web browsers?

I really like Safari, I don't think I could imagine anything better.
I was just curious, is there anything else out there that really is better. What's better? In my case something faster, full screen of course it has to be, multiple tabs for new pages etc etc.

I have been searching all over google and on here and it seems that there is a vast variety of opinions.

With everything I just described I am looking for, is there something out there? Or is safari the best bet.

Just iPhone? No

for your computer? Firefox KILLS Safari

safari is the only one on the iphone without jailbreaking, and the ones you get from jailbreaking aren't free

and chrome is the best one on a computer

+1 on chrome. It's awesome. I have tested it side by side with every browser. It uses the least memory, starts the fastest, navigates and operates that fastest.
