i bought this app on a whim about 2 weeks ago at 1:00am. I was browsing a thread from the developers asking people what they wanted for an upcoming theme. After reading a few replies I realized just how much the developers have relied on info from the purchasers of the app. I always like it when developers respond to people and it seems like this app has major potential still.
I also read one suggest that they incorporate a wind effect from you blowing into the iphone speaker and thus simulate a hurricane effect. if they can pull that off that would be awesome

does this thing get boring after a couple of tries? or, does anyone use it for stress/anger management? (like if you're pissed off at something, you play this game and destroy the hell out of those islanders... kinda like an electronic punching bag. lol)

I was wondering about this also. I need to try this thing out and see what the buzz is all about.

That's exactly ehat it's great at. I can be in a pretty crappy mood, and just flick a couple islanders into a volcano, and I'm smiling.

The newest shark update is pretty damn funny, too.

lol... ok you got me. i'll go get it and check it out! i'm gonna try to submit some ideas as well, like allowing them to talk trash at you. :)

I remember not long ago people were complaining about all the Fart apps, and then it was Shooting games, and Mafia, etc., While I suppose there is a violent aspect to this, it's cartoonish and most importantly, it's a well-done app that does a good job of demoing the iPhone's strengths. i.e. it's something to be proud of, for Apple and the developer.

In short, it's one of the first Top XX apps I'm happy to say I own! The 'blow' to make a hurricane would be a great addition, and another example of using the iPhone's unique features! And the developer's responsiveness and sense of humor is refreshing. I look forward to updates.

I love this app. It usually calms me down after a rough day. I love that they keep updating the app. I wish you could add more than 6 islanders though...

I saw this thread and decided to try this app out. Amazing! I see myself messing with those guys whenever I need to relieve some stress.

Follow them on Twitter http://twitter.com/PocketGod I asked them to visit this thread and maybe catch a few ideas from us.

The "blow" update will indeed be great, but what about voice commands from god to do stuff? Ain't that awesome!

Random (men & women) islanders would definitely add a fresh feel to it.

I was thinking about starting a thread about this app. I bought last week and was gonna ask, can someone explain it to me. I can make the islanders slide around, make them go to sleep (push the sun down) and make them dance (tap on the screen), but what else can I do? The rock drops on one of them every once in a while, and the coconuts drop down for them to eat (sometimes), but what else can I do? I tried throwing one into the volcano but they wouldn't go off the island (better instructions needed).

It's a cool looking app, I just need to know what actions are available.

The app is great. Sure, after a few minutes, there's not a ton more to do with it, but it's perfect for stress relief. I keep coming back to it, cause it makes me laugh.

Even my wife has asked for my phone when she's frustrated, so she can "kill some pygmies and feel better."

I agree, this app is a blast. I found something new I could do last night. I picked up the shark to show my husband how cute it was and happen to let it go over a pygmy. LOL. What a show. I love it!

I bought this app and thought it's such a waste of money. What's the hype all about?? It isn't even a game, you don't get scored, you don't have levels. The animations do look pretty granted, but it gets old in 2 minutes....because there's only so much you can do.....there's almost ZERO replayability....if it can be called a game to begin with....

thats why the developers work hard to bring out new updates every week. I'm sure they know that people would get bored of it very quickly...unless they kepted updating it with cool new features.

I think the best thing to do it tease the shark. Hang a little man over the water and as the shark jumps lift it up, then lower it again and do the same.... funny as hell!

It's NOT called a game.

It's under the Entertainment category.

You can also do the reverse.

Pick up the shark and hang him over one of the islanders. If your aim is good, the shark will eat him as he dances around the island then finally goes into the water. Funny as well.

Yep, not a game but a short stress reliever.

Just saw this post (missed it on the first scan of the thread):

Well I think you wasted your money on your instinct. I read and learn before spending on anything.

And BTW, Its not a game, its an entertainment app.
