I am torn between the space grey and the silver. I guess I will probably get the space grey one. I am definitely not getting the green or the gold one. I hate green as a color

Actually if one is using a case it makes no difference which color iPhone 11 pro to get since it will be covered up, unless when using a clear case.
Apple’s clear case doesn’t protect the bottom of the phone.
I will be using the dBrand Grip with a custom skin or Rhinoshield and a dBrand or Slickwrap skin. Space Grey or Silver have the best customization option for skins
Green will have the least customization options.

I have a feeling that the green is going to be the one that sells out almost immediately. My initial reaction is that is the color I want, mainly because it's different than the typical gold, silver or gray I've been using.
But then I might have to live with the phone not in a case (so I can enjoy the frosted glass back and color), something I worry about doing. Even using one of the super thin clear cases just changes the look and feel enough. I've been using one of the Totallee frosted thin cases on my X for a couple of years now, and wonder if the hand feel is similar. I guess I will find out in a week or so.

I think this is the ultimate dilemma. If we go with the midnight green then we would want to use it without a case but then that can bring anxiety for some people.
Someone, Apple for instance, should make applying vinyl wraps easier to do. Just like with vehicle wraps, you could have matte finishes, gloss, metallic, effectively any color or look you want, that simply get applied to your iPhone when you buy it. There are vinyl wraps that even have self-healing ability for scratches that could eliminate the worry about scratching. And when you get tired of the look, or it does end up getting damaged, you take it back, remove and re-skin the iPhone.
The great thing about wraps like this, is that they don't add any noticeable thickness or change the form factor of the device, which even the thinnest of cases does.
Maybe this year I skip the case (or wrap) and go naked. I'll buy AppleCare+, which I normally do anyway, so if something catastrophic happens I'm protected.
I know it's crazy you would need a case that covers the bottom of the phone also, I can't believe people aren't noticing that they will have a midnight green phone with silver scratches that will look ugly and spending that much money ooouch

This will be my first smartphone that’s not black or gray. The pictures of the green look amazing and apparently they say pictures don’t even do it justice so I really can’t wait.

IMO A great case for a silver iphone would be a clear case with a silver plated edge. I have a gold XS Max with a clear case and gold colored metalic plating on its edge that PERFECTLY matches apples XS gold color. It absolutely looks like a naked phone. The reflective metal plating is beautiful. I've seen similar cases on amazon with plating in silver.
I’m going for the midnight green Pro Max 512GB. I love green and also the color of my favorite football team, go Birds! I hope the ship dates don’t get pushed back too far, if so I may have to settle for the space grey. I haven’t seen anything out there about supply, normally there is some hint. Hope they stocked up green, seems very popular so far.
That’s my plan. Order one of each. Did the same last year when deciding between the XS/XS Max sizes. Easy to return the unwanted one.
I can't stand cases (my iPhone X has been naked since launch, aside from a matte glass screen protector I put on once the oleophobic coating had worn off) ... I got a silver phone so I could polish the stainless steel - I've done it 3-4 times in the past two years and the phone looks absolutely perfect. Since the silver one is the only one with polishable stainless steel, that's the one I'll be getting. Again.
