iPod Merging Apple IDs

Did we ever hear a follow-up on the merging of Apple IDs? I remember Tim Cook said they were working on it ...

I don't want to do anything with iTunes match until I know any and all purchases I've ever made with either of my two IDs would qualify for match. And that's just ONE problem in non-merging. I can't take full advantage of iCloud services if I'm managing two IDs around the matter.

With iTunes Match songs purchased with other Apple IDs are matched just like any other song. I have 4 Apple IDs(long story), all of my songs are available through iTunes Match on my main Apple ID.

Ok ... so ... is this how it works - through iTunes Match? Nice for the songs, I guess ... but I'm more concerned about the mail on one ID and everything else on the other ...

Tim Cook responded some time ago that Apple was "working on it" but I never heard anything subsequent to this.
