Merging my info from external HD

HI,

I want to merge the info I copied to an external HD from my old macs to my new macbookPro... I basically just copied the folders from my user acounts over to the hd. Now what is the cleanest way to sync them up with my macbook so they appear in iTunes and iPhoto??
