Merom chip in MacBook Pros for back to school?

Do you think Apple will put out a MacBook Pro with Merom chip in September? If Intel does release the chip on time, will Apple get it almost immediately?

I can't wait to order my MacBook Pro...I can't tell you how many times I've gotten to the "checkout now" part in the Apple Store.

Perhaps, but I doubt it. Powerbooks (I'm going to use them for this example) have a gestation period (time between updates) of about 10 months, or so says the Macrumors Buyer's Guide. Sure, they might update, but I don't think so.

To keep you optimistic, what do I know?

I actually think that this quite likely, though your estimation may be a month or so early. But like the previous person said...what do I know...

uhm...reports are actually saying that merom is delayed until Q4 or early 2007!
