Is there a way to password received text messages? Or turn off notification, it would be nice if you get a text message everyone that sees your phone knows what it was.

Thanks

I know there are apps to put a passcode lock on individual apps of your choice, but as far as I know they are only available to jailbroken phones. I use LockDown, and I believe another one is called mAdvLock. With those you can put a password on your Text app.

There might be an app for this in the official app store as well, I haven't looked in quite a while.

You can put a lock on your entire phone. If you receive a text message you won't be able to read it until you enter in a 4 digit PIN that you choose. That's under Settings > General > Passcode Lock if you're interested in trying it out.
