Message in iPod Mode

I live in the UK and I'm super excited about getting the iphone, however I was wondering, what happens when you recieve a text message or email while you're listening to music? I know that when you get a call the music fades out and the ringtone plays but does something similar happen when you get a text?

When listening to the ipod feature through the supplied earbuds, the music quickly fades and your hear the new SMS tone. Then the music resumes at normal volume. You can view he message if you wish or ignore it.
