I have notifications enabled on my Mac but I'm not seeing notifications pop up for Messages sometimes. I'm not sure why this happens.. I believe it may be some bug with when I've recently looked at my iPhone or Apple Watch. Does anyone else have this problem? When it occurs, I don't get the notification on any device of mine.

From my experience, even if I do not open the message/notification on my iPhone, if I unlock my iPhone, it won't go off anywhere else (on a Mac, iPad etc). Try this test...don't use any other device aside from your Mac, but have someone text you. It should pop up. If it doesn't, I'd say give your Mac a reboot and maybe wait for a software update.

I’ll test that. Is there any way to turn off that “current device” type feature where it mutes other device notifications?

I'm pretty sure that it's part of the "Handoff" feature, but don't quote me on it. In iOS, it's under Settings, General, and then AirPlay/Handoff.
