Messages in iOS 11.3 is a complete mess. I have been receiving texts and iMessages that don’t show up right away. I have to hard close the app and open it again to see them. The WORST feature is when you want to slide to delete and it asks if you want to delete the conversation? Why change it? To make it even worse something it doesn’t even delete the conversation you have to do it twice.
What’s makes 11.3 even worse I can’t even download that new software for the Apple Watch. What a waste of an update. Apple should be embarrassed...

Yes, since apple didnt include the icloud messages, it should have gotten rid of the second confirmation before deleting the message. Its cumbersome if you want to delete multiple messages that way. But I would suggest clicking on edit, selecting multiple threads you want to delete and then delete them. It does not ask for confirmation that way.

Also, what do you mean you can not download updates for apple watch. Looks like it has been paused for the lack of Wifi. Apple never allowed downloading updates over wifi. What changed?

[doublepost=1522408506][/doublepost]There’s too many steps for deleting a text message. It was just easy to slide - delete and then it’s gone. It was even pointless to have the “hide alerts” option added.
Apple Watch issue... I’ve been sitting at home on WiFi and it wasn’t doing anything. Started out as saying 8 hours to download then every 20-30 minutes that’s what kept showing up.
Apple blew it on this one. Took that long for an update and this is the outcome.

7+ with watch 3 and 8+ with watch 3. All have been updated to 11.3 and am not experiencing any issues with message or updates to the watches. Had the last 3 betas on the 8+ without a problem.

I think you just got unlucky this time. I have not heard anybody having issues with downloading the update. In fact my downloads were very fast.

However, I do agree with you that one more step before deleting the message thread is a step backwards. But once Messages in iCloud would be launched, it would make sense as iOS has to be super sure before it deletes that thread from all devices.

I download and install my Apple Watch update much faster than downloading 2.17GB iOS update. Even though the size is small (less than 100MB), Apple Watch installing update is notoriously slow. This watchOS 4.3 though is fast enough. I am shocked.

I guess that Apple Watch and Messages are not working well not only for 11.3 (I'm still with 11.2.6 and the Apple Watch related iOS -Watch 3 no cellular).
Since a while I have “slow” issues too from iPhone to Watch. I read everywhere that Messages was supposed to come out syncing with iCloud but it didn't. People still using the 11.3.6 beta are saying they can still sync via iCloud
I bet there is a lot of traffic and Apple decided to cancel it in the final release because of "few " bugs. At this point people like us are experiencing a slow messages traffic

He's not the only unlucky one. I'm having the exact same problems updating Watch OS. It's amazingly frustrating to lose access to both my watch and my phone for two days while the phone and watch sit on a charger and repeatedly freeze in the process of trying to update.

I'm happy for you that you have had no problems, but, believe me, others are having problems.

I had to check 2-3 times for the watchOS update but then it showed up. This was the second time that the update wasn´t smooth. I turned the watch off the next day and restarted it... It got stuck on the Apple Logo. Solution: Push side button + crown together until it reboots. In the beginning the watchOS Version was wrong (Settings-> Apple ID-> Device list-> Tap on the watch).
