I was just reading a thread about people not wanting to update to 3.0.1 and have to rejailbreak, then do it again when 3.1 is released.

Can these people just get a hold of the Messages.app package from a 3.0.1 phone and ssh it into their older 3.0 setup? Assuming jailbroken and openssh is installed of course.

This isn't something critical obviously. Just a random thought I had while sitting here nursing a dog with a broken leg and a torn ACL.

You mean replacing the 3.0 Messages folder with the 3.0.1 folder?

That would be a great idea. I'll be watching this thread closely.

who knows if the vulnerability was patched only in /Applications/Messages.app/. It could be somewhere in the system files of the phone, not just the messages app.

Yea, I'm pretty sure it's not just messages.app. I thought that this issue was a memory issue about the way the phone handled text messages. I think it goes deeper than the app.
