Messages app - is there way to see ONLY online contacts?

I'm wondering if I can see ONLY online contacts in the messages app .. Doesn't seem like there is ??

Well this is even more interesting ... I have "show offline buddies" UN-checked, and yet I am still seeing offline buddies .. ?!
