messages click opens new window

Hi everyone,

I just upgraded to Sierra and now, whenever I click on a message in the Messages app it opens the conversation in a new window in addition to changing the tab on the right. The conversation still changes in the tab on the right but every time I click on any conversation, it also opens a new window. It's very frustrating.

Any ideas?
