Messages default emojis - Any way to change them?

As minor as it is, I don't like the default 'thumbs up' emoji. There is another very similar one that I like better. Is there a way to replace the first group of emojis that appear to be defaults?

I don't think the defaults can be changed, but wouldn't your favorites show up in the "recent emojis" section on the emoji picker? I think the recent ones show up first too when you open it up.

They do, but now I have two thumbs ... default and preferred ... just a bit annoying, although certainly a first world problem. If they can't be changed, all good. Ty.
