I noticed today when viewing an SMS thread with someone in my contacts who has an Android phone that my messages now show 'Sent/Delivered/Read' like an iMessage would. Used to be that wouldn't display unless it was iMessage only. New feature server side?

Do they use the Google Messages app? They recently rolled out RCS protocol making it more like iMessage so maybe that has something to do with it. (?) Just a thought-- maybe someone more tech literate can clarify.

Not sure what she uses. She has an old Kyocera Brigadier which stopped getting updates after Android 5.1 Lollipop so I expect it's just the stock messages app.

Seems the 'read/delivered' status is now back to the standard SMS again. Teaser perhaps?
