Is there any way to get rid of the app slider at the bottom of the Messages window?

Also, am I the only one who doesn't like the way the speech to text has a new screen which adds an extra step to go back to the keyboard to correct something?

Tap and hold on the App drawer button, then slide down. It will keep it out of view until you tap the App drawer button again.
