Since Split View came out I've been using it with Messages and Skype with no issues. This morning I got an update for 10.12.1 and now when I put Messages in a window with Skype it takes up the whole screen and covers Skype up. I thought ok maybe it's just an issue with it sharing with Skype, but no I tried putting it with Mail and it does the same thing. Why do they break things that work perfectly fine? ARRRRGGGHHH
Can anyone else confirm this error is happening to them?

Doesn't split screen put an app full screen by default, unless there's another app there already - and then you see either the left or the right of the screen being assigned?

With 10.12.1 this option is gone and no matter what, each app only goes full screen? Pushing the other app to the other space?

The video you display is how it worked before I upgraded to 10.12.1

Here is what I'm talking about.
And I just put Skype in a split view with Chrome and both apps work fine. It's just Messages that's not working.

Yeah, that is clearly a bug, love the video - thank you for visually showing where it goes wrong. Yikes. that's how i run my iMsg and other apps as well for productivity. That's how it behaves on the iPad when it doesn't have proper split screen support yet.

I will be on the Sierra machine tomorrow again - i will go check if i can reproduce this using imsg and skype.

Cool let me know what you find out. Ugggg. Now I'm all messed up today because I now have 2 separate full screen windows (one for Skype and one for iMsg.

Didn't happen on this 13" macbook pro from few years ago. It flashes sometimes like it wants to fail.
On my way home I kind of forgot to ask which version of skype .. But she said it is up to date.
