Messages not responding

Does anyone have a solution to Messages "not responding"?
I'm running Big Sur on my 2015 27" i5 Quad cord retina. I constantly get Messages not responding.
Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem already??

I couldn’t find a “not responding” but this is in the vein of your issue, perhaps. I wish I had more concrete steps to that issue, is the app simply not loading up, to the login point?
