I've been setting up my new M1 MacBook Air which I'm replacing my old 2017 13" non-touch bar MacBook Pro.

On my MacBook Pro in Messages, I have a few conversations that aren't showing on the new MacBook Air, also no messages from my partner for today.

I've got Messages in the iCloud enabled on both MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, I've tried to do a manual sync but nothing. My MacBook Air is showing Downloading Messages from iCloud but it doesn't seem to be using any bandwidth according to Activity Monitor.

Any ideas how I can get them to sync up?

EDIT 1: I've got Keep messages set to forever on both too.

EDIT 2: I set the MacBook Air up from scratch, I didn't use Time Machine.

Thanks

This is happening to my MBA 2017 with Monterey latest release. I've even erased the HD and started clean install and some iMessage accounts are not synching with my iPhone, iPad and iMac. Just the MBA 2017 is having issue. Perhaps I need to downgrade the OS to Big Sur.

I fixed mine by erasing the Mac and reinstalling the OS clean. It sync fine now and even the desktop documents folders on the cloud sync quickly now.

Started to lose its sync again with Monterey. Reverted the MBA 2017 to Mojave and has not lost its sync yet.
