Anyone’s Messages app showing the incorrect number of unread messages?

I was able to get rid of this by going to settings and syncing messages on my devices one at a time. Hope it works for you also.

Sadly did not work.

I reinstalled clean and restored from my backup and they were gone. A little annoying but almost everything came back since it was an iOS 27 backup.
