Hi guys,

My Messages isn't showing a contact picture for me. Where is this picture called from? I want to check why it isn't showing.

Tedious I know but I've turned into a neat freak.

It's taken from your own contact info in Contacts. All pictures in Messages are from your contacts.

I thought this would be the case... My picture is in my contact but still isn't showing. Do you know why this might be?

Do you have your Apple ID e-mail in your info?

In Messages in Mountain Lion, I had to open up the Buddies list (Window > Buddies), then click on the avatar and select the image from the list of recent avatars.

For some reason it wasn't automatically selected even though its set in Address Book and as my users avatar.

Thanks Dark Dragoon, I did have to go the Buddies window. Seems a bit weird to have this extra step I think.

I did find that this exercise to be a bit quirky and unnecessary.
