There is an article on MR about using multiple search filters in messages. I can't seem to invoke those...did this not make it to the release version of iOS 17 yet or am I just inept? I'm looking forward to this...my wife switched over from Android a few years ago and she still complains about the search function in messages.

It works for me. I typed in a name, tapped on "Messages from: (name)" and then can select a filter from the list below. You can also type a filter instead of a name.

OK, it seems to be hit or miss. If I type Apple (as you did), I get the little icon & text filter below the search bar but if I type something like "mom", I don't get that option. It seems some terms trigger the filter and some do not. Maybe that's by design...the filters only work on senders and content types, not on specific words like I expected.

Strange, it works for me with "Mom".

I have years of conversations (I never clear them) so maybe the results for me are too numerous or something but if I type in any general word, dog, car, etc. it does not offer up a filter.

Same for me. The only filters seem to be names, photos, location, or links.

Ah, my mom has passed so i don't have her as a contact so that makes sense. Thanks for the help!
