Messages sending SMS to instead of iMessages

Yosemite MESSAGES is sending SMS text messages even to people who are on iMessage. How can I change that?
 
I noticed it today as well on my public beta mac. It may have happened before but I wasn't paying attention. I thought it was odd. My Mac on DP5 sends iMessages just fine. It will probably be resolved in the next public beta release.
