Hey guys,
I have Meta-X 2.4.6 and its acting strange. I am trying to tag all my "Hellraiser" movies and its not finding anything. Most of the time it acts like its not even searching. I can delete Meta-X and re-download and it temporarily fixes the problem. Then it goes right back to the same thing. Has anybody had this problem or know of a place where I can find an older version?

I've actually noticed the same thing the last couple days. Not sure what changed. I've had the same version installed for quite a while. The IMDB browser portion still pulls up the correct info, but actual app refuses to automatically populate the data fields most of the time.

Meta X has given me so many problems in the last few months, I have fully switched to Lostify, it works so much more reliably.

Have any of you found a decent alternative? I dont feel like entering everything in for Lostify...

Man I am so glad I saw this thread, I've been searching and searching, this crap isn't working anymore and tagchimp has barely any of the movies I'm trying to tag.. and I'm not very interested in filling the blanks in when I'm taking 10 - 15 movies at a time, has anyone e-mailed the developer?

I'm guessing the problem is caused by the API restrictions Amazon.com recently announced, but I could be wrong.

Developer's Response

I sent of an email to the developer today, however havent gotten any response at this time..

Rod, the developer, emailed me this response:
Yes, Amazon changed their API, and I am *trying* to figure out how to use the new one. Right now I've got to say that they have me baffled. This is why the search queries are being rejected and no data is retrieved. Dan and I are looking into a fix, but can't guarantee anything concrete right now.

kerstetter and dan hi are excellent devs. if anyone can figure it out they will. as an avid user of metax I suggest we all just give them some time. MetaX is a first rate product and this is not their fault. patience is a virtue in this case. Just my .02

MetaX is a wonderful application, and I would gladly pay for it. I just hope that they get this situation figured out soon, because I have movie that are piling up at a rapid pace.

As of recently, MetaX has started to trash the audio tracks on certain M4V encodes. As soon as I run a movie through MetaX tagging, the audio is no longer playable. Reproducible it both on QuickTime and VLC.

Anyone else had this happen? Very strange, as MetaX has been rock solid (at least until the Amazon stopped working).
