I'm at work but even if I wasn't I wouldn't go there. I prefer to go to Newcastle for my shopping so all of my Apple store purchases are from the one in Eldon Square. I hate the Metrocentre, it's the reason why Gateshead town centre isn't as good as it could be or ever will be, and it's the reason why Newcastle doesn't figure so highly anymore for retail sales thus bring a higher end of retail to the area despite the Metrocentre only being about 2 miles away.

Newcastle vs. Metro Centre, I reckon it's six and two threes, Newcastle has more shops but metro centre's got free parking and it doesn't matter if it rains, at least theres more choice, I've never been to Gateshead town centre like, that's probably why lol

Newcastle is easier for most people to get too, infact for myself I have to travel through Newcastle in order to get to the Metrocentre. I think the free parking is the only thing the Metrocentre really has going for it, most of the big name retailers are in Eldon Square in Newcastle so it doesn't matter if it snows, rains etc.

At the end of the day though I think it's positive news for us having 2 Apple stores within 2-3 miles. Cities like Edinburgh and Leeds still don't even have one store.

Must be nice, I live north of Morpeth, so really I'm nearer Eldon Square, but MetroCentre is easier to get to (straight down the A1 :D), what time u thinking of getting there?

I was thinking 8ish too, but then again the MetroCentre doesn't open till 9 on a Saturday (which is probably why the opening is at 10), unless that's just when the shops open cos I don't wanna que in the cold outside the Red doors lol
