iPhone X Mic issue on iPhone 8/8+/X?

Isn’t this a known issue? I feel like I’ve read complaints from others that the mic is defective on their iPhone. For months people have been telling me I sound muffled. I own and iPhone X. I have tried cleaning the mic but people still can’t hear me that well. This started happening one month after my warranty expired.

Anything I can do to fix this? Or am I SOL?

The first port of call for me would be to test the “muffled” claim, myself. Afaik there’s no known issue with the mic.
