iPad Pro micro-scratches or dust?

So i found what i thought were micro-scratches on my ipad pro after cleaning it with alcohol and microfiber clothes (car wipe, not glasses). I was pretty bummed with it since i only used pencil and my fingers on the ipad and people said pencil wouldnt scratch the ipad. I tested the pencil on a tempered glass and it didnt scratch so there is no way the pencil could scratch it. But turns out these micro scratches can be wiped clean with my finger...

Is it the oil from my finger that disguised the scratches? Or are they simply dust and i just did not clean it enough? If its the latter then how do i *really* clean it?

The coating on your screen scratches easily. These micro scratches are only seen under certain lighting conditions.

They all have these scratches.

Just try to enjoy your iPad and not be worried.

The coating on iPad do get micro abrasions that show up in certain light. Not sure if that’s what you have on yours. I got tired of it and started putting glass screen protectors on my iPads. I couldn’t tell much difference using my Apple Pencil.

Zagg Invisibleshield HD Glass is your friend. I swear by them. For years, Zagg made crap protectors but they’ve knocked it out of the park more recently. I have one on each of my iPads. It’s peace of mind.

Well worth it to protect your investment. The HD GLASS Invisibleshield is relatively easy to install and tough as nails.

If Zagg had released a correctly cut-out screen I'd have gone with theirs, so instead I went with AMFilm and I like it ALOT. I have been using glass since Air 2, I can't stand scratches... no thank you.

Mine fits beautifully on both my iPad Air 3s, all 3 of my Pros and all of my 6th generations.

Micro scratches are going to happen no matter what. If I stand in direct sunlight on a really bright day, I can see a couple of very, very minor lines on my iPad screen where I swipe up to go home. I usually can't even see them even if I'm trying to look for them. Has to be exactly the right light to find them at all. They're just scratches in the oleophobic coating. It will happen with use.

But here's the thing that gives me piece of mind: I use my Apple Pencil literally every day for drawing, note taking, photo editing, designing, etc. and the fact that there are only a couple of extremely minor abrasions that are invisible unless I really try hard to find them under the exact right lighting conditions tells me that this screen is incredibly tough and that installing a screen protector just isn't necessary.
