I have been eagerly waiting for a microcell since February. Is this thing ever going to be released to the rest of us?

No *****!!! How tough can it be to roll out?

LTE will be done before the Microcell.

Yet another ATT FAIL.

They couldn't even get something as simple as MMS out by their own deadline.

Expect Microcell in about 3 months at LEAST.

As a Microcell user in one of the pilot markets, I can tell you this device is not yet ready for prime time. There's still too many issues with garbled calls, random loss of connectivity and a few other minor issues (problems establishing the IPSEC tunnel to AT&T, GPS issues). Most problem escalation calls that I've had go straight to the engineering team (which is nice for us), but I don't think AT&T can handle the customer support until those issues are ironed out.

Once they get the issues worked out this will be a great device.

I bought one retail in San Diego. Fixed my coverage issue, however noticed on long calls, people tend to lose the ability to hear me, as if I am on mute.

Call the AT&T support number listed in the documentation and have them check to see if you have the latest network updates and carrier settings on your SIM card.

I had similar issues and I needed a new SIM card for my iPhone. Once it went through network activation my call reliability got much better. I have been on multi-hour conference calls with work with no issues.

Prior to that I was lucky to get 15 - 20 minutes without having to call back into a conference call.
