Preorder at $999. There's another Surface (tablet?) being launched too. The ads I've seen so far are mostly fluff pieces.

It starts at 16 GB of RAM and goes all the way up to 32 GB? At last, a civilized amount of memory! 😩

Jokes aside, it seems pretty good. I don't know how useful Microsoft's AI features will be in day-to-day life, but this seems like a pretty solid device overall.

Dave2D review on new line but it's not performance stuff. He has them in hand and talks about keyboard, display, weight, etc.

The OLED would be interesting but Qualcomm has a lot to prove, I don’t trust them with ARM or MS with compatibility which is the main reason for Windows. Additionally, hearing talks of ads being baked in to upcoming OS versions is a deal breaker.

That's the biggest complaint in the comments section. I'd guess that we get performance reviews in the next couple of days.

Bought a Surface Pro (3) for my xSO when it came-out.

It was a Sisyphean effort to get one BTO with i5/16GB/512GB . . .

. . . but I managed to do so, and it was Good :)

Added the fine Corinthian Leather Alcadabra keyboard attachment on-purchase.

A few years later, I witnessed her accidentally fling it across the driveway in a rush to get to the aeroport . . . Her name is not Grace ;)

Little bugger easily survived that episode, and is (IIRC) still her go-to Personal Assistant.

Next one's on Her :)

If IOS had a similar Office (with easy to understand filing systems and a good table setup in Word) I'd get a 13" iPad for my wife. But that is not the case so I am thinking about buying a Surface Pro, and maybe I won't have to replace my wife's Ipad Pro 10.5, which has shot batteries.

The first 8Gb of RAM is required to run all the built in spyware.
