Microsoft Edge ANNOYING popup

Every time I try to launch Edge I get an annoying pop up window. Even though I enter my Microsoft school account password it doesn't work in this instance so I have no idea why I get this and how to stop it.

This is looking for your computer login password, not an internet account password.

Actually the computer login password isn't what it wants.
It refuses it. It's something else.

It appears to need the password that unlocks your keychain. That's usually the same as your admin password (the one that you use to install software, same as your account login password (NOT your Microsoft school account login, unless you are sure that the two logins are the same)
Try unlocking the Keychain - - open yourKeychain Access utility, in your Applications/Utilities folder. You'll see the list of keychains there. Is the padlock icon next to Login locked? or open? It unlocks with your admin password. If you can't unlock the Login keychain, then you have changed the keychain password. It would be tied to the account that originally set up the system on your Mac.
If that's the case, it's usually easier to just delete the login keychain file, and let your Mac create a new one.

Its not a browser popup window, but an OS level prompt for elevated privileges to access adalcache in your keychain. Maybe something with your keychain's permissions is off

Hi @silverlakerCA , I know this is a old post, but, did you happen to find a fix? I have a domain user with same issue, only happens when she opens EDGE which is needed to access SharePoint from Windows or macOS.

Unfortunately, this is a long-standing problem with any Chrome-based browser and Macs. As far as I've seen, the only options are to allow the browser to always access your Keychain, in which case the prompt goes away, to use a non-Chrome browser, or to deny the browser access every time you launch it. It's pretty clear both Google and browser makers have no interest in changing this "feature".
