Microsoft Edge auto launches - and I didn't tell it to

Like Chrome, Edge launches itself when I boot into my computer. Each and every time. It's not specific to launch but insinuates itself. I have no way to remove it from the dock which I didn't set up either.

How do I stop this? I have to use Edge for work document approval that doesn't work in Firefox or Safari so I can't delete it entirely.

On your dock, try to right-click Edge then Options. Uncheck "Open at Login" and/or choose "Remove from Dock".

That's exactly the problem - nothing is check when I right-click. Edge just opens on its own.

Is it a work computer? If yes ask IT for support.

You can also check System Preferences > User & Groups > user under "Current User" > Login Items

I was able to fix the issue by deleting Edge and then reinstalling it. An odd quirk.

You said "like Chrome". Your Chrome also launches when you turn on your computer?

I deleted Chrome and am sticking with Edge.
