I have switched away from safari to edge.

Main reason no 4k support in safari on my Mac pro 5.1

utube now plays 4k in safari its 1080p
Netflix now plays with no issues also.

All my streaming apps play with no issues infact. if you have a Mac pro 5.1 microsoft edge is a very good browser.

The new MS Edge browser is based on Chromium. It works well, as you've discovered. I also like to use Firefox, which has similar capabilities as Edge.

I like how Edge handles the tabs...inactive tabs are put to sleep.

Another good browser is called brave, I have been using that the last few days and its very fast and secure, dare i say i like it more than MS edge. I am using it now in-fact and its very very good.

yeah Safari is absolute crap, even if you try to use developer tools to change the user agent, it is still utter crap

I 100% Agree. Safari is just rubbish, this brave browser is really good, very impressed with that.

Edge is really solid. I've been using it to test a site I'm building and grew to like it. Firefox is my main browser but Edge is definitely becoming my second choice.

I seem to remember the Safari team posting on Twitter recently asking how they should improve their browser and what features people would like. Did anything come of that?

I've been using Edge too and really like it. Only 2 things I miss are being able to change the order of the Toolbar, Favorites, and Tabs, I like them in that order and they're Tabs, Toolbar, then Favorites in Edge. Also can't figure out how to reorder the Toolbar. Found how to add/delete items but can find a way to rearrange them..
I really like the Collections feature but need to learn a lot more about it.

i like edge as a browser but hate how in-your-face it pushes Microsoft's own services. even google doesn't go that hard in chrome.
