I have an excel spreadsheet template on my MacBook air but I need it transferred to my iPad and then keep it on my iPad to email monthly how do I save it on my iPad to email, please

You don't. Just access it via the cloud. Edit: I'm assuming you've installed the OneDrive app for Ipad.
