Just recently picked one of these up from Carphone Warehouse for £129 to use as a cheap work phone, so I don't have to take my Note 4 with me as I'm always worried something will happen to it as my job involves alot of manual work.

For £129 sim free this phone is superb, runs very smooth on windows 8.1, screen pretty good for 720p both sharp and no blacklight bleed & camera is very decent aswell which surprised me.

Two of the biggest bonuses of this phone is first the battery life which i can get nearly 2 full days of it on a single charge and the fact that you can install most apps onto the MicroSD card.

Also call quality is very good better than the Note 4 in fact.

At first i was all set to pick up a Moto G, but I'm glad i got this now it so much better than the current Moto G & cheaper to.

The only downside obviously is the apps, there isn't all that many but the main ones i used are covered so that isn't a problem, though this may change when Windows 10 comes along & hopefully alot more apps that are missing will finally come over to Windows.

So who has one and what do you think of it?

Recently saw the 640 at a store with a shiny blue color (*bling bling*) and it looks really, really good. I wish the 730/735 had the same color option.

720p
5" or less
Snapdragon 400 series (based on efficient A7)
2200+ mAh

Battery life should be very good.

But I would prefer the 730/735 for the shorter size and N9/Lumia 800-like design. I like Nokia, so WP is always an option for me even if I feel Android > iOS >> WP on the apps and customization area. I do think WP makes a good secondary mobile OS and more complementary to Android than iOS especially if you are a Windows PC user.

Using the 640 on AT&T Go ($45 Unlimited talk, text and 1.5GB 4G) and it has been great so far. Big screen, photos seem good, WP 8.1 is smooth. Phone is only $79 retail. Great deal!

I bought one on Friday, the day they launched on AT&T GoPhone. Walked into the store and the sales person originally brought out a 640 XL, only to realize that the 640 was available on GoPhone after me showing the AT&T website. He was very interested in the 640 and Windows Phone in general and asked me a couple questions about the general working and user interface of Windows Phone and about the future updates with Windows 10. I hope that he gives Windows Phone a chance, and especially with the $79 price tag of the 640, it's totally worth a shot.

I own the Lumia 520, 635, 1520 and now the 640, and I have to say that the 640 is very close to the 1520 in terms of being my favourite Windows Phone. The 640 is leaps and bounds better than the 635 with the (much) better screen, the gigabyte of RAM, glance, and more. I'm using my 640 (GoPhone model at AT&T) with Cricket and it's working just fine! :D

Very happy with the 640.

Yep, I got one as a backup to my iPhone 6. I like it a lot. I previously had the 635 but the grainy screen was annoying to me and I gave it away. So far, the 640 is a step up in all the categories. The 720p screen looks pretty good for a device that only cost $80. I'd definitely recommend this phone to people.
