So I've read that Microsoft Office runs slow for Mac's. I've used it on Macs at school and I'm going to be getting a Macbook before I got to school in the fall and was wondering if it was worth it to get the Student and Teacher edition of Microsoft Office.

Edit: I have the Student and Teacher edition of Microsoft Office for PC's could I put this on the Macbook?

You can get iWork which is Universal & compatible with Microsoft Word.
(same with PowerPoint & Keynote, right?)

Only if you install Windows on it, either via boot camp or in Parallels, both of which need a Windows disk which is going to cost you almost as much as Student and Teacher Edition of Mac Office even if you get Windows OEM.

M$ Office runs fine on my 2.3GHz Power Mac G5 and on my 2GHz MacBook Pro. Office does run faster on my G5 since the MBP has to use Rosetta to run Office, but it is still entirely useable on a Mac with an Intel processor.
