Same with ios....but you need a subscription to do anything worth while, such as editing. You can view files and presentations for free though.

Hmmm...you sure? You have successfully edited and created power points, etc?

They just made it free for iPhone 'home use' today.

From the Details section in the App Store:

Sign in with a free Microsoft account to create, edit and save documents for home use. A qualifying Office 365 subscription is required to create, edit and save documents for business use.

Listed under the What's New subsection for today's date:

-Office Mobile for iPhone is now free for home use

Got it. Thanks.

NOTE: It is not compatible with Nexus 7 and I'm willing to bet Nexus 10.. But I can DL it on my Moto X, because that makes perfect sense. Microsoft!

Yes, at present, it isn't for tablets. From others, you can create and edit Excel and Word docs, but maybe not Powerpoint?

P.S. This does nothing to make Windows Phone less desirable since Android could already manipulate Office docs (QuickOffice).

Well, I have DocsToGo, QuickOffice and Polaris Office and they are inferior to MSOffice. For my needs, since I mostly use Excel and Word, this works.

Awesome! Time to uninstall quick office and install this.

Sure this is bad for windows phone. But i think MS should stick to what it did before, software. And make it multi platform.

Now if only they make their One Note app better for android....

Now, without a subscription, you can fully view and edit.
I can view my email attachments but not edit them. Can you?

Either way, on my phone, I don't edit so this will stay. I like it more than QuickOffice or kingsoft office actually. I didn't like how they handled excel sheets and this one is far better.
