Well, here it is, finally, Microsoft's successor to Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista. Its been a long time coming.
I recently installed the final edition, and boy, did it take a while to upgrade over RC2. (About an hour and a half)
After an hour and a half upgrading process, I was dropped into the desktop, finally. >.>'
Started to move some files around, and Windows Explorer crashed out, and wouldn't let me close it out and reload it from Task Manager. So, I had to reboot. Which was rather annoying, as this is supposed to be the final build, but I guess its because I upgraded over a pre-release edition.
After I rebooted, everything was great and nice and dandy. Very speedy, very nice 3D effects. Then, I went to Control Panel, and got 6 little boxes popping up annoyingly reminding me that my audio driver wasn't meant for Windows Vista (Which is rather funny, due to the fact its a Vista driver that Realtek put out themselves on the 9th)
Other than that, its been rather nice. One of my favorite features already is the new volume control. Finally being able to influence the Windows Sounds volume is nice, as it allows me to turn them down so when I'm listening to iTunes, my ears aren't blown off by the error noise.
They seemed to fix Aero Glass, as nothing I've run, and that includes old programs that arent made for Vista, nothing seems to break the glass effects now, which is nice, because if you remember my last musings on Vista Beta 2, EVERYTHING BROKE IT.
Anyhoo, I think I'll throw this up. Post your thoughts, musings, and own opinions and testings of Vista.
PS - Leopard is probably gonna beat the s*** out of this, but hey, some of us still use Windows. ^_~
