I think this is the first Microsoft app I have seen MADE by MS. Could this be the result of the rumored Visual Studio upgrade? I find it odd though that MS would release an "official" app.

Not really that unusual. MS have released some official apps before (Tag Reader, Seadragon Mobile and a US only Bing app), although this one is probably a bit more substantial. Not to mention that Bing is now an official option in iOS4.

Hopefully all this leads to them releasing an official Xbox Live app as well.

Anyone know if this will push your hotmail? Or, is it just best to add hotmail onto the native Mail App?

Is coversation push broken for anyone else with this release?

If I exit the app, it should push conversations, but from another live messenger account, I show as connected for a while, don't get any messages, then I show as disconnected...

Is push disabled when moving from wifi/cellular, or does microsofts app just not work properly...

Warning to all of you, do not install this app!

As soon as you've signed in, your Windows Live Account will constantly show you as offline no matter where you sign in from - perhaps there is a way to fix this but I haven't been able to and now none of my contacts can see me online :(

mBoxMail pushes Hotmail and Windows Live mail accounts. Pretty great app.

Thanks, but I currently use mBoxMail. Yes, it is a fantastic app. I was hoping the Windows Live Messenger would be even better, but from what I read, likely not. And I'm probably just going to add my hotmail account to my native mail app now. This will help me cut the fat and perhaps get rid of mBoxMail. It served me well, but it's time to slim down.

WLM pushes fail

I m quite excited for this release but the pushes notifications don't sho up after u exited the app for a while... any solutions?:confused:
