I installed an SSD to replace a bad hard drive. Followed the correct instructions and put the HDD temp sensor on the SSD about where it was on the HD (not sure if that is relevant). Stickiness of bracket was gone so I taped it.

Put everything back together and when I booted up fans are running full blast. I reset the SMC I believe. Tried two different ways:

1) Shut computer down. Removed power cable and keyboard (it is wired)for 15 seconds. Plugged power cable and keyboard back in. Waited 5 seconds and turned on. Did not work

2) . Shut computer down. Removed power cable and keyboard (it is wired)for 15 seconds. Plugged power cable and keyboard back in. Held down Shift, Control and Option and hit power button while those three buttons were held. Computer turned on. Did not work.

Don't know what else I can do.

It does boot up in El Capitan perfectly fine.

The last sentence I said I was running El Capitan and it boots perfectly. Everything I wrote is with El CApitan installed. No sierra

runs AHt or install istat menu,,look which sensor shows zeros and you will know which one isnt working.
But from what i read its the HD one .you broke it .it happens.just replace it.

AHT won't run on mid 2007 imac and I'll try Istat. Istat is not very intuitive and I couldn't find anything when I looked before, but I'll try again.
