I have a mid 2011 iMac 27", upgraded CPU, 16gb Memory, upgraded it to an NVIDIA 880G w/8gb, and SSD internal drive.
It runs Catalina great... but now I am getting a little bit limited on the programs I can install (such as the latest FCP)...

Can this system run Big Sur or Monterey or will I need an AMD card inside? (which is pretty much a deal breaker since video card prices are through the roof...)

Thanks!

I'm also interested in this answer, I have a mid 2011 iMac 27" with a 2.7 GHz cpu, I'm thinking of upgrading the cpu, but figured while I'm in there I should consider upgrading the GPU. What GPU is best?

For Big Sur/Monterey:
Radeon Pro WX7100m, if you could find one.

For High Sierra
Quadro P4000 or P5000

All need their vBIOS modded to be usable.
