Hello - I am using a mid 2012 mac pro tower in my studio. I use all 4 bays with 2 tb hard drives to store all of my plugin orchestral sounds. The drive in bay 2 disappeared from the desktop and finder - so I assumed it was a bad HD. I replaced with a new HD, (intending to restore that drive from time machine) - I rebooted and it is still not seen. I then started in recovery mode, used disk utilities to format, (Like I would normally do), but the new drive in bay 2 still can't be found. Is there such a thing as the bay going bad? if so, can it be repaired or replaced? I'm dead in the water with certain sounds for the moment - any thoughts would be appreciated - thanks!

of course the Sata Port can go bad, I have a backplane with that faulty Sata 1 Port.

You can use the 2nd ODD Sata Port, under the DVD drive for your new HDD.
