Hi,
i am trying to find a suitable upgrade for my work. i am working with usually render with FcpX (usually), Motions, Compressor, After Effects.
Now, i read many many articles but i could not find a exact answer.
My MacPro is mid 2012 6 cores 2.4gha, 48 gb RAM, Ati 5770 and a ssd.
When i am workin with 1080p 1 hour videos -which is about 5-6 gb-, beachvalley effects occur on my mouse cursor.
i could buy,
1. Second ATİ 5770
2. Ati 5870 or which graphic new generation graphic cards.
i read that quadro 4000 does not work well -and so expensive for me-.
As i read fcpX 10.1 colud work with dual 5770. But i don't know if the other softwares can use dual 5770 at a time.
Thanks.

I have a GTX 680 4GB and am happy with it.

I have heard however that dual 5770s, while older are quite potent and fall within the power constraints of the stock system.

Have a read of the big nVidia sticky post. The 2012 MP can only feed cards with 2x 6-pin power requirements (or down clocked 6-pin plus 8-pin).

If you want a 780 you will need to go to MacVidCards and find a downclocked one that has been modified to fit within your power constraints.

I have a MVC flashed OverClocked Gigabyte GTX 780 that has been running in my 5,1 for over 5 months now with no issues. MVC shorted the two eight pin connectors and it works just fine with the internal power six pin cables.
