Hello,

I have two Asus VS278Q-P 27' Monitors that I would like to use as external displays on my MBP.
I would love if there was just a cheap thunderbolt adapter that I could hook to monitors too.

I have found the following thread:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mbp-mid-2012-13-with-2-external-monitors.2033877/#post-24331656
-I cant daisy chain
-I do not want to pay for a Matrox Dualhead

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/2-external-displays-with-a-mbp-mid-2012.1853620/
-I am confused by this thread because it does say my MBP is capable of connecting 2 monitors with 1 thunderbolt port?

I would need to buy:
thunderbolt to DVI/HDMI adapter for Monitor #1
USB Video Adapter for Monitor #2

I believe my MBP has USB 3.0-- Will that help with performance on the 2nd display?

Thanks

My MBP:
Apple MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.5 13" Mid-2012 Specs
Identifiers: Mid-2012 13" - MD101LL/A* - MacBookPro9,2 - A1278 - 2554*

Thunderbolt and cheap do not go together.

You can daisy chain Thunderbolt monitors. You can find 2 used ones for $200-$300 if you look hard enough.

Otherwise you will have to get a USB adapter for the second monitor.

Why don't you want to buy the Matrox box? $45 on eBay

I didn't realize I could get them for $45. Now an option.
I just watched this video
It seems the Matrox is just a compact version of combing thunderbolt to DVI/HDMI adapter for Monitor #1 and
USB Video Adapter for Monitor #2 into one box? Or am I missing something in terms of monitor lag?

It turns the screens into 'one big screen', 3840x1080

A USB adapter would show up as another monitor
