Hello Everyone. I purchased this Mid 2014 new from Apple. Last year I installed a best skin on it and I shorted the trac pad out. UGH. Apple quoted me $460.00 Laptop MD in NYC quoted me $150.00 Well I choose them. Big mistake , I really don't use this much, just for travel and noticed that the battery life is terrible .. when using it now, I checked the cycle count and it was at 2 now. I figured that Laptop MD removed the battery to install the new trac pad and it reset the counter .. Well my wife made an apt at Apple and they informed her that there is a aftermarket battery in the laptop not OEM Apple! Well It seems like Laptop MD either switched my battery or who knows what they did with my OEM battery. Well we had Apple install a new battery,trac pad and keyboard for $460.00 ( they told me when you change the battery you get it all as one part . So we opted to do it. The battery life while using it is definitely much better now with the OEM battery installed. BUT , Now here is the issue: The original battery and the aftermarket battery held their charge at 100% while lid was closed for months with out dropping any % .. Now with the OEM battery I loose 15-20 % overnight. I installed OSX clean Mojave .. Like I had before and still on a fresh install still loosing % every night. Things I tried : Installed NEW OSX fresh , Changed the Sleep mode to Hibernate 25 & sudo pmset -b tcpkeepalive 0 , (sudo pmset hibernatemode 25,) & SMC reset, NVRAM reset. Still dropping every night. Turned off bluetooth as well. Is there something I'm missing. I didn't think this would happen with the new Apple battery installed when it didn't happen with the Orig battery and the aftermarket battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated .. We are still loving this laptop and would love it to hold the charge after closing the lid like it used to do. Thank you in advance.
and they dont sell them to anyone.. we buy top quality aftermarket and its been ok for years, no one complained, you might of got a lemon. As far as trackpad, i dont know what happened there, we need to look into your ticket. feel free to contact us anytime.
