A while ago I came up with this, but I doubt many people saw the little post about it, so here goes.
Note that this design is impractical in many ways, which I will list at the end. It's still a cool idea though.
Well, Apple could do something very original with this. They have the iMac - where the computer is being the screen and it's all one device. Well, many people don't want an all-in-one, they don't want to have to get a new screen and speakers and webcam and microphone when they're iMac gets old. So, Apple release a thin Mac Pro.
It would have specs that match the iMac, but it sits behind your screen, attached to it with DVI like normal. The computer is about an inch to 2 inches thick, with stands that fold out on both sides to keep it upright. It has the SuperDrive in the side, vertical, and speakers on the left and right bottom corners of both sides, thus meaning you can put the computer either way round, depending on where the SuperDrive will go (where you want it). You can turn the speakers on one side off if they're facing the other direction from you. These speakers would project the sound under your monitor, past the stand, and to you, but if you don't have a stand, you'll have to get external speakers (which would be an optional extra).
So, that's my idea. It's an interesting concept, but it would never happen. Here's some of the reasons why:
-Apple just wouldn't do something like this, it's not their style.
-Having speakers on both sides would be quite a waste of money...that could be a built-to-order option though.
-If the computer is 20 inches wide and you have a 20 inch monitor, it won't look so good, or if you center it you can't reach the SuperDrive.
-No visible Apple logo D:
Well, that's an idea. Thought I'd share it.
