Hello everyone! My Imac's graphics card recently just went and I see very few options for upgrades. There are the AMD graphics which are known to fail, Which I am not trying to replace mine with. There are the 4gb Nvidia K4100M's and I am about to pull the trigger and buy it. I would like to be able to edit 4k videos and play newer video games on it with ease. My mac currently has the i7 2600K 3.4Ghz, Amd 1gb graphics, and 12 gb of ram. When I purchase a graphics card I am getting 32gb of ram,ssd superdrive swap, and a new hdd for mac os (I am using bootcamp to install windows to the 1tb ssd. I may also get the i7 2700k and put the i7 in my mid2011 21.5". I see mxm B graphics cards everywhere and I am very curious. Could I buy lets say a 6gb,8gb,16gb mxm B graphics card, Could I flash them to work for my mac? Ive never flashed before but I am willing to learn with youtube as a sidekick. Thank you for viewing my post!

It's recommended to get one of the new AMD cards from that thread though you may have to try multiple cards whichever model you go with before finding one that works.

The SATA port for the superdrive is only SATA II. You would be better to use the unused SATA connector if not using that already as that is SATA III. There are three SATA ports in the 2011 iMac.
